January 7, 2013 — Last day to pay delinquent 2010 property taxes if you want to keep your name from appearing in a newspaper advertisement that will run for three (3) consecutive weeks. State Law requires the County Treasurer to run this ad prior to the Show Cause Hearing in Circuit Court.
December 31, 2012 — Last day the Hillsdale County Treasurer will accept a partial payment on a delinquent 2010 property tax unless you have been approved for 1 yr financial hardship extension.
December 14, 2012 — Last day the Hillsdale County Treasurer will accept a personal check or business check for payment on a 2010 property tax. Starting with December 17, 2012, we will only accept cash, cashier checks or money orders for payment on 2010 delinquent taxes.
I urge you to pay your 2010 property taxes immediately. We are in the final stages of the Property Tax Foreclosure law for 2010 delinquent taxes. It would be a big mistake to lose a valuable piece of property due to unpaid taxes. Please call our office (517-437-4700) if you have questions about this process.
